Alex Maughan

Eagle #508 is signed with Rugby ATL and will continue his rugby career here in the south after graduating from Life University. Maughan helped pushed Life’s pack to a 2016 D1A USA Collegiate National Championship also earning him a second team Collegiate All-American nomination. Then, in February of 2017, Maughan got the call up to the United States National team for the Americas Rugby Championship where he was capped in a 29-23 win vs Uruguay down in San Antonio, TX.

His rapid maturation on and off the field was quickly recognized by Life’s Head Coach, Colton Cariaga, who named him Captain for the 2018 Life University season. That season and Maughan’s college career was topped off with Life’s second D1A National Championship in 3 years.

As one of Rugby ATL’s first signings, he was sent on loan to NOLA Gold for the remainder of 2019 Major League Rugby season. Maughan will look to combine his international and professional experience to lead Rugby ATL from the front of the engine room and in the club house.
